Diagnosis and Treatment: August 2021 primary doctor found lump during my physical. Lumpectomy with clear lymph nodes September 2021. Had a capsule endoscopy done prior to chemo and capsule got lodged and forced X-ray to confirm it was lodged in my esophagus which then showed several cancer nodules in my lungs. CT and biopsy of lungs confirmed stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Started taxol herceptin and prejeta late October 2021 and finished the taxol in January 2022. Breast tumor totally removed during lumpectomy and lungs went from 2.4cm down to 0.6cm as of January 2022 and has been stable since with no changes. Still doing herceptin and prejeta every third week.

Diagnosis and Treatment: I was diagnosed with Stage IV denovo MBC in Fall 2021. ER/HR+, HER2-. Scans found six small bone mets - one on each hip bone, one on each side of my ribs, one on my sternum and one on my spine.
I completed 12 rounds of Taxol in Fall/Winter 2021 and two cycles of AC in early 2022. A PET/CT in January 2022 showed no active cancer in my body and all the bone mets were healed. Since then, I've been on Kisqali and letrozole, along with carvedilol, Zometa and Zoladex. My medical team is holding off on any radiation or surgery because I'd have to pause taking the Kisqali for a few weeks before and after. My team does not want to risk the progress we've made. Radiation and surgery are still an option if the cancer should come back or the bone spots cause me significant pain or discomfort.
Hobbies: I love volunteering and being part of purposeful, mission-driven organizations. I also love cooking, baking, wine tasting, supporting local businesses and hanging out with my husband, Scott, and two daughters, Elise and Greta.
